This page explains what the Habla Hola chat stores when you use it, on this website or on the website of one of our customers. Habla Hola runs the chat; the business whose website you are on decides how it uses your conversation.
What the chat stores
- What you write: your messages, and any files you send (PDF, JPG or PNG). Location data inside photos is removed when they are uploaded.
- What you tell us: your name, and your email address if you give it.
- The visit: the page you are on, the page you came from, and your browser and device type.
- Your IP address, and the approximate city and country it points to. The business you are chatting with sees only the city and country.
- A visitor ID saved in your browser's local storage, so your conversation is still there when you reload or come back. No advertising or tracking cookies are used.
Choosing the language of this website
We show this website in your browser's language. If your browser only lists English, or languages we don't offer, we look up the country of your IP address in a location database on our own server and use that country's language. The result is not stored. If you pick a language in the menu, we remember it only until you close the tab.
Why
To answer you, to keep the conversation in one place, and to protect the service from spam and abuse (for example by limiting how many messages one address can send).
Who can see it
The business you are chatting with. Habla Hola staff can open a conversation only for security or support reasons, and every time they do, it is recorded in an access log.
Visitor locations are looked up in a database stored on our own server. Your IP address is not sent to anyone else for this.
Your choices
You don't have to give your email. To see or delete what a chat stored about you, ask in the chat or write to the business you contacted.
IP geolocation by DB-IP.
